We Have Flowers Catalogue
Publisher CU Art Museum
ISBN 9780998050003
This Catalogue was published on the occasion of the exhibition Ana Maria Hernando: We Have Flowers, organized by Sandra Q. Firmin, director and chief curator, University of Colorado Art Museum, June 24th-October 22, 2016.
The exhibition catalogue, which extends the life of the exhibition and introduces Ana Maria’s work to broader audiences was made possible through a significant grant from the Elizabeth Fire Stone Foundation. Numerous individuals not only helped to realize the catalog but have offered nourishment, guidence, and willing hands to Ana Maria as she produced an entirely new body of work made expressly for this exhibition.
Deep appreciation is extended Mark and Polly Addison, Mardi and Brown Cannon, Mary Caulkins and Karl Kister, Joanne and Ron Katz, Martha Records and Rich Rainaldi, Jim Robischon and Jennifer Doran of the Robischon Gallery, and Bud and Barbara Shark for their financial support of the catalogue. Thanks also go to Elissa Auther, whose insightful essay situates Ana Maria’s oeuvre within feminist art historical contexts.
The exhibition catologue, thoughtfully designed by Matt Rue at McGinty Co., visualizes connections between works created by Ana Maria over the past 20 years. Our appreciation is also extended to Michelle Asakawa for her editorial contributions.
The catalogue also includes an interview with Ana Maria Hernando and Sandra Q. Firmin.
